Kobe Lespedeza Seed - Kobe Lespedeza is a warm season legume that has a heavy seed production.  Kobe lespedeza is great for hay, pasture, food plots, erosion control and game bird feed.  Kobe is well adapted to well drained, loamy or clay soils in the South.  Kobe tolerates acidic and poor soil types where other varieties are not. Kobe Lespedeza is very popular in food plots for for Turkey, Quail and other game birds.

Type: Warm Season Annual Legume    
Origin: Eastern China, Korea, Japan
Adaptations: Wide adaptation in the lower South. Well drained, clay or loamy soil. Tolerates acidic soil, poorer soil types.
Uses: Hay, pasture, erosion control, wild game food for deer, turkey and quail.
Benefits: Easy to establish, low maintenance. Low fertilizer and lime requirements.
Nutrition: High quality in mid to late summer.

Planting Information:
Seed Rate: 30 lb. per acre or 1 lb. per 1000sq. ft.,
Seed Depth: 1/4 - 1/2 inch
Planting Time: February - March
Fertilizer: 200 lbs. of 10-10-10 per acre at establishment - lime soil if pH is below 5.0.
Grazing: If grown in pasture with other grasses, graze to keep grass from shading out the Lespedeza. Allow Lespedeza to go to seed once per year to maintain pasture.
