Siberian Kale Seed - Siberian Kale is a cool season annual that is high in protein and highly digestible. Protein content ranges from 15% to 20%. The leaves are over 90% digestible. Well-maintained plots are highly productive and can produce 8 or more tons of forage per acre. This high production makes Kale and other brassicas suitable for planting on small acreage food plots. Kale grows best in cool climates and will benefit from a fall frost. Cold days and nights sweeten kale while hot weather produces bitter tough leaves. Optimal soil temperature for growing kale is between 60°-65°. Kale does best when pH of the soil is between 5.5 and 6.5. Kale requires moderate amounts of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium.
