Micro Clover Seed - Micro clover has all the same characteristics of regular clover with the exception of the leaf size.  Micro clover can be planted as a stand alone lawn or over seeded into existing lawn grasses. It can tolerate wet (not to be flooded for long periods of time) and shade conditions, as well as drought.  Microclover is a nitrogen fixing legume which requires little fertilizer, fungicides, pesticides or mowing.  Microclover also benefits your existing lawn grasses by providing natural nutrients. Microclover has excellent cold, drought and traffic tolerance.  It is even widely used on sports fields world-wide because of impeccable wear resistance and high traffic tolerance.

The first rule in mixing Microclover in with other grass species is to know that Microclover grows quite aggressively and is very well suited to the latest fine leaved, dense, high quality perennial ryegrass and microclover.  Slender creeping red fescues are strong enough to be used in mixtures without perennial ryegrass where they find equilibrium with the Microclover.  In dry areas, Microclover can be added to tall fescue grass mixtures.

Microclover is extremely cold tolerant.  It will go dormant slightly in the winter months depending on location but is very aggressive and will most likely come back under harsh winter conditions.  Killing frost or ice may be the exceptions.  Microclover, in light dormancy, will slow down and lose some vigor causing the color to dull but not completely go away.

***Microclover is a coated seed.
